The Galveston County Health District Office of Birth and Death Certificates receives, records and issues birth and death certificates, and burial transit permits. This office also serves as a remote birth certificate printing location for the State Bureau of Vital Statistics. Certified birth certificates for any individual born in the State of Texas can be issued immediately upon request. Currently the Galveston County Health District operates its office of Birth and Death Certificates in three (3) locations as listed above. Effective December 1, 2005, the cost for birth and death certificates obtained through the City of Texas City Vital Statistics Office is as follows:

Birth Certificates
$23.00 each
Death Certificates (Texas City deaths only)
$21.00 for first certificate $ 4.00 for each additional certificate (of same record)
