Independent School Districts
Texas City is served by three school districts: Texas City Independent School District, La Marque Independent School District, and Dickinson Independent School District. The City of Texas City works closely with all three districts. Local industry has worked particularly close with the Texas City Independent School District. Texas City Independent School district, in an effort to better serve its student population and the community, has created programs for students to prepare them for trades common in the local area including welding, agriculture, aquaculture, food technology, and career preparations (work/study program). All three school districts have programs to develop its students at different levels from Honor programs, college credit programs, work/study programs, and trade programs.
