The City of Texas City is has numerous major universities with graduate and post graduate opportunities for citizens in the area and for those businesses that need that accessibility. The list of universities include: St. Thomas University, Rice University, University of Houston, Houston Baptist University, Texas Southern University, South Texas College of Law, Texas A&M University - Galveston, and University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston. This does not include the Texas Medical Center located in downtown Houston, which is host to major universities, medical schools and research.
