Airports
The City has two major international airports within minutes of Texas City - Houston's William P. Hobby Airport roughly 30 minutes from Texas City and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport roughly 60 minutes from Texas City. Houston's William P. Hobby Airport is served by eight carriers. In addition, Texas City is close to Ellington Field which has commercial and private use in conjunction with the military and NASA use only 20 minutes from the City. Ellington Field, also, operates as a general aviation reliever and is utilized as a cargo field. There is a municipal airport (Sholes Fields) located in Galveston and within minutes that can accommodate private jets and other smaller planes.
