Shoal Point Cargo Container Terminal
The City is working with a private group to develop a Cargo Container Terminal within the Texas City Port at Shoal Point. This project is also known as Texas City Internal Terminal. The amount of acreage will allow the terminal to be one of the largest Cargo Container Terminals in the country taking advantage of the central location with respect to the United States and the soon expansion of the Panama Canal. In addition to the Cargo Container Terminal, there will be the opportunity to develop acreage into other activities and uses that need port access, also, at Shoal Point.
