City of Texas City Park and Ride Hike And Bike Trail Study Public Hearing and Comment PeriodNotice of Tax Revenue IncreaseThe City of Texas City adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 2.572 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $9.073. (Posted Sept. 21, 2012) Galveston Co. Housing Assistance Program Offers Grant Funds to Homeowners and LandlordsIn preparation of the release of funds for reconstruction or rehabilitation of homeowner and landlords of rental housing properties, the City of Texas City has entered into an agreement with the Texas City Housing and Rental Assistance group to assist local residents and landlords with the application process to receive a grant from the Galveston County Housing Assistance Program. There are program requirements that must be met; however, after the application process if you qualify and are accepted into the program you can receive repairs, renovations or reconstruction of your home or rental units up to four units per owner. The City of Texas City, is committed to Community and Economic Development through its "Good Neighbor Program" and continually strives to find ways to improve neighborhoods and assist property owners in maintaining or improving the value of their investment. City Commissioner's Precinct 2011 RedistrictingOn November 2, 2011, the 2011 Redistricting Plan for City Commissioner Precincts was adopted by the City of Texas City Commission. The plan was submitted to the Department of Justice for approval on November 14, 2011.
