Mayor Matthew T. Doyle was elected to the City Commission of the City of Texas City in 2000 and 2002, where he served as Mayor Pro-Tem. In 2004 he was elected as Mayor of the City of Texas City and was re-elected in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and recently in 2014. Matt's father, Charles T. "Chuck" Doyle served as City Commissioner from 1964 to 1980 and was elected Mayor of Texas City in 1990 where he served until 2000.

Active in the community and public service, Matt has served on many boards and committees. Matt was elected and served two terms as a Member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors, from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2007. Mayor Doyle remains committed to the quality of life for the citizens of Texas City and the Goals for Texas City as set forth in the Vision 2020 Strategic Plan.

An Eagle Scout, Mayor Matt Doyle is a 1976 graduate of Texas City High School and a 1980 graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Mayor Doyle is Vice Chairman of the Board of Texas First Bank and is a member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Community Church in Texas City where he resides with his wife Debbie, also a Texas Tech Graduate. The couple has two children, Sean and Erin.
