NOTICE: Important Changes to Garbage Collection - Effective February 1, 2019
Beginning February 1, 2019, the City of Texas City will provide automated garbage collection via contract with a new provider - Waste Connections of Texas (WCT).
What are the important changes?
1) Residents will no longer use their current garbage cans. Instead, every home will receive a new, 96-gallon roll cart (garbage can) that can be serviced by the automated garbage trucks used by WCT. Most homes will receive their new carts during the month of January 2019. For more information about the new carts, click here.
2) All carts must be placed in front of the home, by the street. Garbage will no longer be collected behind homes along alleyways. Carts must be positioned facing the street, with at least 2 feet of space on all sides. For more guidelines and tips, click here.
3) Service days will change for most residents. Click on the "Residents" button above for a map of the new residential collection schedule, or click here. Residential garbage will still be collected twice per week. To view the new garbage collection route map, click here.
